KUALA LUMPUR: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd’s pre-tax profit rose to RM48.93 million in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2016 from RM41.19 million a year earlier.
Revenue was slightly higher at RM138.43 million in the period from RM130.79 million previously, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday.
For the nine months, pre-tax profit increased to RM140.26 million from RM118.16 million, while revenue was up to RM417.5 million from RM396.32 million a year eralier.
The company said the better nine-month results showed an encouraging growth with positive contributions from palm oil, alumina, container and ferro-alloy cargo.
“These cargo will contribute positively towards the revenue for the year. The handling of liquefied natural gas vessels and cargo showed a slight drop, but will still continue to be Bintulu Port’s most important revenue contributor,” it added. – Bernama
